Drawing inspiration from queer ecology and hydrofeminism, these soundscapes act as instruments of recalibration, designed to transmit sensations and narratives that extend beyond conventional perception. The work views each living being as a hyper sensual and empathic organism, existing in fluid and interdependent relationships within the web of life. In the ongoing orchestra of the invisible network – the ecosystem – organisms are collectively co-creating forms, relations and perceptions in constant metamorphosis.
The listening experience aims to initiate a subtle yet profound shift in consciousness. As the boundaries between self and environment dissolve, new narratives emerge from within. Transformation arises through bodily sensation and emotional resonance.
The research centers around sound as a relational practice, as a tool to embody the impact of energies and organisms of this invisible network. The work is nourished through sensual immersion in natural environments – somatic encounters that receive inspiration for sound, tales, stories and melodies through deep listening, recording and vocal toning practices. Stories of places and territories – their legends, mythological themes and sacred sites – are merged into science fictional narratives. The magical character of each environment is translated into a sonic voyage through an imaginary cosmology, moving through micro- and macrocosms containing fluids, organs, critters, plants, and mycelium networks.
Sonic elements are crafted through a careful process: environmental recordings are woven with looped voices, ASMR sounds, and transformed through effect machines into a live performance score. These compositions aim to inspire listeners to perceive themselves as active participants in the ongoing symphony of ecological relationships.
The project evolves through each encounter with different environments: from evoking imaginary landscapes at Pianofabriek and Garage29 in Brussels, to exploring alien ecologies at IKOB's Performing Landscapes Festival, to engaging with ancient dragon myths at Lake Orta (Italy). Each iteration adds new layers to the central question: How can sound evoke and transmit narratives, images and bodily sensations, beyond what we 'know' as reality?
This is an invitation to ecological awareness – a sonic ritual to invite us to remember our place within the endless body of life itself. It creates a space where humans and nonhumans are invited into sensual listening and dreaming together, where new connections are composed in an instance, and where transformative thinking emerges from within.
